Louisiana Duplicate Vehicle Registration


For most Louisiana motorists, obtaining a duplicate vehicle registration is a simple 6-step process:
Step 1 Enter Vehicle Information
Step 2 Verify Vehicle Information
Step 3 View Fee Breakdown
Step 4 Authorize Payment of Fee
Step 5 View and Print Receipt
Step 6 Provide Feedback (optional)
  • The following items are required to obtain a duplicate vehicle registration:
    • License plate number, year of vehicle and expiration date of license plate.
    • Valid credit card backed by Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express

  • Your duplicate registration will be mailed to the address on file.
     
  • You must use Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher to successfully complete your transaction.
     
  • Your duplicate registration will include a State Charge for electronic commerce in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statute 49:316.1.
     
  • NOTICE: Louisiana Law requires that all vehicles you have registered be currently covered with the required limits of liability insurance or other security as provided under R.S. 32:861 et al.  The law is enforced by civil and criminal penalty.
     
  • Transactions will not appear until the next business day. Do not attempt multiple times.
